International Jazz Day Celebration 2018

Celebrate International Jazz Day 2018 for the second year in a row with the Buffalo Jazz Collective at Flying Bison Brewing Company!

840 Seneca Street, Buffalo, NY 

Tickets $20/Door OR $10/door with an April donation of any amount to the Buffalo Jazz Collective! You may donate online, via mail, or at the door.

All proceeds benefit the musicians. Tickets include first beer. 50/50 Raffle and Silent Auction will be held the day of the Celebration! 


BJC JAzz Workshop

The Buffalo Jazz Collective Jazz Workshop is comprised of WNY High School students from the city of Buffalo and beyond. Students perform in a traditional big band setting and learn fundamentals of jazz improvisation, theory, and history. 

Our opening act will play from 1:00 - 1:45.


BJC Repertory Orchestra ft. Lindsey Holland

The BJC Repertory Orchestra is an 18-piece big band comprised of the top young professional musicians in the Western New York area. The Repertory Orchestra pay's tribute to the jazz tradition through performing repertoire by historically important jazz musicians, composers, and band leaders.

The Repertory Orchestra will play from 1:45 - 2:45.


Sabu Adeyola and Friends

Bassist Sabu Adeyola, protégé to the late jazz master Charles Mingus, is one of jazz music's finest. As a member of the most celebrated trios to have toured with legendary pianist Ahmad Jamal, Sabu (with Payton Crossley) incorporated a spiritual swing to Ahmad's signature style. 

Sabu has spent his career touring, performing, and recording with  industry elites including Abbey Lincoln, Ahmad Jamal, Charlie Byrd,  Dexter Gordon, Roy Haynes, Flip Phillips, Cassandra Wilson, and more.

Adeyola and his group will lead a jam session from 3:00 - 4:00.
